We have a minimalist Georgia O'Keefe print that we would like to sell. It was purchased in a museum store, and we can't remember for how much or how long ago, just that it was a long time ago. We found it sitting in our closet recently, still wrapped in the plastic. The plastic was taken off a few months ago while it was hung in our house, but we are deciding to part ways with it.
I measured the piece in two ways;

With the matting - 14" x 19.75"
Just the print - 8.5" x 12.25"

Very unusual theme for an artist: A full color rendering of the interior of a textile mill in the 1930s. This print was cut from a 1930s era General Electric calendar and is titled: "COLOR PRINTING IN A TEXTILE MILL". It shows cloth being manufactured in a textile factory. The artist is Harold M. Mott-Smith. There is a '38 next to his signature. Mott-Smith did many fine paintings for General Electric. If you Google his name, you'll get more information about him.

During the 1930s and 1940s, General Electric published calendars with artwork advertising the wide variety of their products as well as memorializing their more famous researchers, engineers and scientists. They made electrical products ranging from lightbulbs to radios to diesel electric locomotives to electric turbines for warships. GE employed first rate artists to illustrate these calendars. A bit of trivia; Thomas Edison was one of the founders of General Electric.

The picture area is 10 x 13 inches.

The condition is excellent; no color shift or fading. It looks nearly new but it's over 70 years old. The attention to detail is so great that I've enlarged part of the print so you can see it.

This print comes from a former General Electric employee who collected these prints and stored them in a closet for decades. I have other prints which I'll be selling.

This print shows twelve, 32 ton cables being laid across Baltimore Harbor. I've enlarged a section so you can see the attention to detail.

During the 1930s and 1940s, General Electric published calendars with artwork advertising the wide variety of their products as well as memorializing their more famous researchers, engineers and scientists. They made electrical products ranging from lightbulbs to radios to diesel electric locomotives to electric turbines for warships. GE employed first rate artists to illustrate these calendars. A bit of trivia; Thomas Edison was one of the founders of General Electric.

This print was cut from a 1930s era General Electric calendar and is titled: "THE PATH OF ELECTRICAL SERVICE DIPS BENEATH THE SEA". The artist is Walter Greene. Greene did many fine paintings for General Electric.

The picture area is about 10 x 13. The condition is excellent; no color shift or fading. It looks nearly new but it's over 70 years old.

This print comes from a former General Electric employee who collected these prints and stored them in a closet for decades. I have other prints which I'll be selling.

This amazing painting refers to the Cultural Revolution and the large X signs posted at the ends of docks that literally meant now docking and symbolically refers to intellectual and creative freedom. I am selling this large piece for 250.00 The painting was given to me by the artist after I interviewed him and wrote an article about his art work. Haku Maki (1924 - 2000) Haku Maki is the artistic name of Maejima Tadaaki, born in 1924 in Asomachi in the Ibaragi Prefecture. Maki had almost no formal art training, except for his involvement in meetings guided by the master modernist, Onchi K�shir� after the Second World War. Maki�s earliest works were strongly influenced by K�shir�.

Maki worked in a number of printing techniques, but he is best known for his combined woodcut, stencil, lamination and cement-relief block prints. To create these prints, Maki would carve and score the cement paste while it was still wet. The blocks were then rubbed and pressed onto paper with as much pressure as possible from his hands to produce a raised relief or three-dimensional effect. He used both water-based and oil-based pigments.

In 1969, Maki designed 21 block prints to accompany ancient poetic songs from the 5th to the 9th century. His later works are composed of a broad range of variations on the use of calligraphic shapes.
